    Thanks Mike!!
  2. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

Yes, I am one of the "lucky" ones. I've been testing these pads for a little over 4 years now. Yes I have used Surbuffs, and somewhat liked them. They never really blew me away, or pulled me away...
  3. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

Is that how you spell it? I don't understand why they have to make the names so freaking complicated. How about VW version 6.5.9? lol :D
  4. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

So true! And that was one of my biggest challenges also! In fact, I still have issues with this today. I have to keep reminding myself throughout the entire vehicle, to just slow down! lol!

  5. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

Like I said earlier, I've had a lot more time with this system than most, and that's given me a while to perfect my use of these pads over a long period of time. What works for me, may not work for...

    Yes sir
  7. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

Yes, only one cutting disk thru the entire car. They are very durable if used correctly. Keep the speeds slow, and clean it on the fly when you can. They will last several cars if you take care of...
  8. Re: DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

I'd say probably 10 hours just in the paint. I'm not sure if it took less time than a rotary job, but I prefer the MF process with the DA.

I enjoy it a lot more than rotary buffing. The...

  14. DA Microfiber System……VW Touareg(53 Pics)

Trashed! That’s about the best description for this Touareg! Owner of this beauty actually owns a VW Dealership. He has a home here in Texas(full time home), and also a place up in Colorado, where...

Re: Meg's DA MF system comments...

All I know is what I see. So he could be spot on. But I do know it does cut very well, but I prefer M105 over the DA Compound because it's a little stronger, Flex on about 3.5, and it seems to do a...

Re: Meg's DA MF system comments...

I believe my exact words were "you're gonna love the Griots DA with the MF pads!" lol ;)

As for the finishing pads on the Flex, there is no difference between the cutting and finishing pads...

Re: Meg's DA MF system comments...

I told you the MF pads were too grabby with the Flex, but you just wouldn't listen LOL! j/k

Have you tried the thicker polishing MF pad with the Flex? It works so much better than the cutting...

Re: MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

You may find yourself liking the Griot's machine with these new pads as I have. In the past, I liked using the Flex machine. It's a good workhorse. But with your Griot's machine, and these pads, I...

Re: MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

LOL! I just noticed your picture in your avatar, assuming that's really you in the picture, it's no wonder why you'd prefer the Flex over the DA. My arms are about the size of your pinky, so you...

Re: MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

Ok. Only thing I have at the house right now is some stock red Chevy paint on my van, and some incredibly soft custom paint on my Colorado Xtreme. It'll probably be better to do something like this...

Re: MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

Even with just the weight of the machine, the Flex was not incredibly difficult to handle, but it was still all over the place. It would be a chore to do an entire vehicle(for me) like that. I...

Re: MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

I'm sure it is the added friction of the MF material is creating the grabby/jerky feeling with the Flex. With the added foam of the finishing disk, I'm assuming that it's absorbing some of the grabby...

No no! Don't be sorry! The more we learn about all this, the better off we will all be. People perceive things in different ways. Just like my objections to another members comments, some could say...
