    Re: EZ detail brush

The plastic plug is easy to lose (at least for me). An easy fix is to add liquid rubber for tool handles on the end of the brush. Dipped the brush with about 5 coats of it on the end and it has...

Re: 2010 Ford Fusion and Mustang Pic

Even better, for those with that kind of bent (me...) the new 2010 Fusion will be available as a hybrid with a reported 38 mpg overall rating. With that car, the Escape and the European Focus and...

    Re: Cheap generator?

    Makita at 10 amps = 1200 watts
    Most 6 HP Shop Vacs at +/- 12 amps = 1440 watts
Halogen lights (if needed) assumed to be 1200 watts

With nothing but lights and Shop Vac, you would need 2640 watts...
  5. Re: Your opinion on body/paint repair on used cars

On a DD I learned a long time ago to accept a certain amount of rock chips, minor dings (door bumps) and other imperfections in the paint. When they total up to an unacceptable amount it's repaint...

    Fusion jar

OK, I have learned to live with the lids on Sig II and Sov but I tried my new jar of Fusion today. Max has GOT to find a better jar for a $175.00 wax.... It took a minute to get the #!%* lid back on....
  8. Re: Is this plan for my first buffing try sound?

You could put a good carnauba over the sealant as it will "warm up" the look. IMO, I would not put NXT over my sealant but that's just me... I like a nice carnauba....
  9. Re: Is this plan for my first buffing try sound?

If your paint is real soft, I doubt that you will need 105 and a cutting pad. For soft paint, try your mildest polish with a finish pad and then start working up until you find a combination that...

Re: Okay ready to move up

If you are going to the effort of learning, buy the Makita rotary or equal (DeWalt, Metabo, Flex, Hitachi....). You have some great products and the rotary will help utilize them them to the fullest....

Re: What am I doing wrong??? :-(

    hvaughn,

I still use SSR every now and then. You need to work it a little longer. If you still have any marring of the paint, go to a blue or grey finishing pad. I have and use Menz Nano, Final...

Re: What am I doing wrong??? :-(

Use 2 pads. If the white does not work with the SSR 2.5, try the orange with it and then the white with SSR 1

    Re: poorboy's world product help

    Sciontest,

Natty's blue over WDGPS is a great combo that I have used a lot. Another to try is Natty's red. I don't think they can be beat for the money.

Re: Spots in paint- need an expert.

    colonel,

I think you need to take this area back to bare metal, prime and start from scratch. Does the entire car have this problem? I know how my temper would flare if this was my car and these...

    Re: My First Headlight Restoration

Plexus it what I use but I'm sure others here have their favorites. As far as the pads go, you can use the white pad with SSR1 but I would probably use the grey or blue pad with SSR1 to see if they...

    Re: My First Headlight Restoration

Use a finishing pad and something like SSR1 or Menz Nano or Final to get rid of the haze. It is also easier to finish without any holograms in soft plastic with a PC or other orbital polisher. I...

Re: How to remove clear coat on Headlights

    Pearl,

Try using 800 grit and if that does not work, 600 grit to eliminate the clear. Use an eraser similar to a pink pearl as a sanding block and try to work just where the clear is until it is...

    Re: Cleaning Hid Kit

    Emile,

The ballasts and igniters on some of the kits out of China are water resistant to a point but they are not water proof. The better kits are completely water proof but this is one of those...

Re: How to avoid dry buffing

    Sqeeky,

The wax should lube the pad well enough without a spritz. If you want to however, any QD would work. Polishes however do need a little help at the start....

Re: MicroRestore in Front Loading Washer?

Funny you should ask. Tried this last night after buying a bottle. It seemed to work OK using the directions on the bottle (2 OZ for a full load). The wife DID make me run a rinse cycle after though...
