  1. Re: Thoughts on Meguiar's M799 Pro Ceramic Bead Booster?

Meguiars has a new ceramic coating. I saw it on the shelf at Advance Auto.

    Re: Pontiac is coming back…

There was a legal disclaimer at the bottom of that ad. I'm doubtful.

Re: Is this thing on? BlackFire still viable?

And just because someone has a degree in chemistry doesn't mean that they are creating base polymers and additives from scratch.

Re: Is this thing on? BlackFire still viable?

Back in the day Mothers and Zaino claimed to have their own chemists, whether those were in house or contracted, it's hard to know for sure.

    Re: Outdoor car covers...thoughts

I have a nice 3 layer cover but it seemed too much of a pain to use outside. The wind always blew it around.

Re: Is this thing on? BlackFire still viable?

There are some Blackfire products on Amazon. They might be wholesaling the line out. PBMG had too many similar products in multiple lines. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were the same...
  7. Re: Done with Gyeon products and probably ceramic coatings

Seems the people having best results use maintenance soaps or sprays.

    Platinum blue finishing pad...

Picked one of the Platinum 6 inch finishing pads up at WalMart. I used it with Mothers Ceramic 3 in One as a finishing polish. This pad seems a bit firmer than some of the other finishing pads....

Re: When do you Leather Condition

Theoretically warm or hot weather is better as it's the leather expands some and the pores are open more.

    WalMart buffing pads...

These are being sold under the Platinum brand. They are 6 inch and look to be nice quality. At $7, they are a bargain.

    Re: Gimmie your two cents.

Chemical Guys Spray and Wipe is a pretty good product for light dust.
  14. Re: THIS REALLY CHAPS MY HIDE - Another Rant Thread

Fire and safety. I'm one of the small guys.
  15. Re: THIS REALLY CHAPS MY HIDE - Another Rant Thread

In my line of business, there are guys who literally work for nothing. I let them do it. I charge people a fair price considering my time and cost. Some think I'm high, others think I'm cheap.

  17. Re: Term "buff and wax"...seems missused..what say you?

If you finished that with a rotary that is impressive.

    Re: Hercules forced rotation polisher...

A detailers hall of fame? That seems a little silly to me. So many of those hall of fames end up just being a marketing exercise of sorts.
  20. Re: So what's the replacement for Turtle Wax Tire Coat?

I like the Adam's Graphene better than the TW Acrylic Ceramic. It's easier to apply evenly. It's not a coating but it is pretty durable.

Re: Collinite 845 Insulator Wax Review

If you set 845 out in the sun for a while before using it, it will thin out considerably.
  23. Re: Anything new or worth considering LSP wise for 2024?

Quadphene will be the next greatest product. 4X better than ceramic coatings.
