Re: What's the siding? Fiberglass? How to fix?
That's a goner sorry to say. Even if managed to pull up anyshine it will revert back in 2 to 3 months. But do it anyway cause its a improvement.I would of used collinite preclean polish and top it off with fleetwax. All by hand to much heat from the pads may mat the finish leaving it dull and cloudy.

Thanks, GSKR. I am going to work on it anyway. Guess it can't hurt. My products arrive Thursday so I'll give it a shot.

Thanx for posting the pics.
Bill
That's what I thought because of the fibers but it didn't show up in the ordinal pic. Thanks for taking a look

Hey Teri.
As a guy that has worked on fiberglass boat hulls for over 20 years, I can tell you the 'glass and whatever paint and/or gelcoat used is pretty much shot.
As mentioned above, it will more than likely look better after you apply a bit of product to it, but will very quickly reabsorb into the porous surface.
If I were to make a suggestion, it would be to do a test spot like Mike P mentioned, then wait a few days or even a week to see if it lasts.
Better to find out you wasted 30 minutes on a lost cause rather than a couple of days.
JMO, and just trying to save you some time.

Thanks, Paul. I will do exactly that. You're right, I don't need to spend time on it if it's not going to last any time. I'm taking care of my 84 (almost) aunt with advanced Alzheimer's and time is pretty thin. I want to do it, too for my sanity
What's left of it anyway. Thank you, again. I really appreciate all the great feedback. Teri

Re: What's the siding? Fiberglass? How to fix?
Update: First, I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I started this thread! Wow. I’ll finish this up by saying that the HDspeed worked well. I did another pass last October. The guy I sold it to finally picked it up a ew months ago. The shine was still there but, as others had posted, I don’t think it would have lasted long. I wasn’t going to work my butt off for someone that will not keep up the maintenance so that’s that.
I do want to make sure to tell everyone that helped me out on this a big thank you! I’ve learned so much from you all and appreciate all the help! I’m going to focus on my truck now as soon as all the rain stops.

Re: What's the siding? Fiberglass? How to fix?
Yes! I’m going to work on my red Toyota after the rains. Here’s the plan: wash thoroughly, Clay (if needed), polish and seal. This time around I’m going to use Meguiars #105, #205 and 21. I’m interested in how that turns out. Should be good and I just got the GG 6” and some lake country thin pro pads. I’m excited!
