Sealant or wax for fifth wheel cap with decals
I read somewhere that you have to be careful with your choice of product for the vinyl on rv’s. is that correct? Is there safe products to use for polishing and protecting them?

If you mean vinyl graphics that run down the side of some RVs?
The answer is Yes. I regularly machine polish these only to clean them up but I always use GREAT abrasive technology, the right pad for the job and the right tool. Thus I'm safe.
If you use crap for abrasive technology, the wrong pad and the wrong tool - you'll screw them up.
Can you share a pictures of what you're working on?

Full write-up here,
Remove swirls scratches by machine in Vinyl Stripes Decals Graphics Corvette
Try to find something like the above on any other social media platform.
And you can do this same thing using larger tools and pads for larger areas.

If you just want to clean up some graphics, get this,
Soft foam finishing pad
ANY brand of free spinning random orbital polisher
BLACKFIRE One Step
It's pretty bubba-proof.
And you can use a more aggressive pad with the same tool and product to remove swirls, scratches, water spots and oxidation on the gelcoat or paint - depending upon how your RV is finished.

This is what I’m dealing with. I’d like to give it some protection without damaging the decal. We live in the north and bugs are a serious issue, I’d like to be able to remove them without damaging the decal.

Radar,
Trust mike. He knows his stuff.
I have a 25' Rockwood mini lite and used McKee's RV one step last year I bought it because AG used to carry it, and it was on clearance. It did the job. Using a Porter Cable polisher and white CCS pads I went at it with no concern for the decals. After a year of hard use, it still looked like new after a basic washing. This year I'll probably go to BF one step to keep things simple and just use the same product on all of my vehicles.

I just recently picked up a bottle of Meguiars Flagship Premium Marine Wax. I used it as a lsp on a 20’ boat last week and it turned out great. It even says it has a bit of cleaning ability that’s capable of removing oxidation and light swirls which I wasn’t expecting since it’s not labeled as a cleaner wax, but sure enough it was able to clean & polish when I tested it.
Easy to apply & remove. [let it haze for about 10min. then buff off with a towel]
Says it’s their most durable protection, “safe for all boats & RV’s”
