Re: Rupes 21 with 5.5" Pads + Other Questions
[QUOTE=TundraPower;1033042]
2. Use non-Rupes pads on Rupes machines at your own risk. The velcro backing on non-Rupes pads is not strong enough for these polishers. I've had 4 non-Rupes pads fly off during polishing.
I haven't noticed this?! I have noticed almost the opposite actually. My non Rupes pads are a Pain in the arse to get off of the rupes, I was considering the Rupes pads because I hoped they would release easier from the machine, lol. I use megs pads as well as lake country.

IMO, using non-rupes pads makes the polisher feel less smooth. Rupes pads are noticeably smoother. However, that doesn't mean non-rupes pads won't correct and finish well; they will, albiet feeling more wobbly during polishing.
