Im sure Duetto can do that. My test hood is e34 bmw metallic blue and my 21 removed p1500 effortless using mf pad and compound. I only did 4 overlaps and it was ready for finishing and Diamond gloss with white pad was enough to remove microfiber haze. Sometimes i wonder who needs a rotary these days
And, again, just to be clear- you're adding some pressure too?

    Are you/have you used Zephir?

Yes i use moderate pressure, not too much at all. I tested M101, Zephir, S3 XXL and Nanolex heavy cut. They all did the job.

Waiting for the Kamikaze Beast plate to become avaliable/in stock for the LHR15 Mk 2...that'll be interesting.

Pulled the trigger on Duetto mainly for form factor reason and don't have big panels for LHR21. I will sell the mini if I find it redundant. Also, purchased Makita XBU02Z cordless blower.

Will do, the car is supposed to have arrived 20 minutes ago already.

The 15 uses the Kamikaze Katana, the 21 and Duetto use the Beast.

You'll probably still want to hold on to the Mini. There are a lot of places you can go with the Duetto, even with finesing the pad edge. They're made easier with the Mini.

According to US distributor, 15 Mark 2 is Beast, legacy 15 is Katana.

KAMIKAZE 5" BEAST BACKING PLATE FOR THE RUPES LHR12 DUETTO, LHR15 MARK II, AND LHR21 BIGFOOT POLISHERS!
The Kamikaze BEAST 5" backing plate for the Rupes LHR12 DUETTO, Rupes LHR15 Mark II, and LHR21 Bigfoot provides the ultimate in performance, precision, balance, and smoothness!

    ...

NOTE: This backing plate is designed only for the LHR12 Duetto, LHR15 Mark II, and LHR21 Bigfoot, and not the LHR15ES. While it will fit, the balance will be off, and you will not achieve the highest level of performance. For your Rupes LHR15ES Bigfoot, you want to use the 5" KATANA backing plate.

And according to my UK source its still the same on Legacy ES and MKII models. However I have the new revised MKII Katana and Beast plates with cooling holes.

Edited to add: Tried Katana and Beast on both 21 and 15 MKII now. Katana doesn't play well on the 21 MKII but both Katana and Beast work fine on the 15 MKII.
