Re: Got a rotary for christmas
I would not recommend using a rotary immediately. You risk burning through your clear coat. Start with a DA first

Getting a perfect finish with a rotary is a skill that takes many years of practice! You should strongly consider picking up a D/A buffer and finish out your paint with a fine polish for a permanent
swirl free finish!

The reason the swirls came back, is because they never left your paint. The polishing oils hid them. It's important to do a solvent wipe down after polishing to get rid of the oils before applying a wax/sealant.
Not that it matters, but are you a female?

Re: Got a rotary for christmas
my point is here, yes, you might like the rotary and im not saying by any means give it away or lose it. However you run a large risk of damaging paint very easily

The porter cable is the typical go to DA for the newbies. Its a great machine to learn on. I personally went right to the meguiars g110v2 because I was not told about the pc and I didnt want two machines. However, I would get the porter cable with two pads of each color. M105 and m205 are great compounds too. Your backing plate should match the pad size
