    5" backing plate on rotary

I'm looking for a smaller backing plate for my Dewalt rotary and would like to hear some recommendations from those who use a smaller pads.

I'm specifically interested in the EVOLVE 4R ROTARY Backing Plate -WITH HYPER FLEX TECHNOLOGY 5 inch WITH DEEP CELL FOAM WHITE. Seems to have extra padding to help pads conform to panels with curves etc.

To date I've only used Lake Counrty plates on both DA and rotary buffers.

If you want a good 5" rotary backing plate, get the 3M BP.

And specifically the 3M 09553 Perfect-It unit. Absolutely phenomenal but pricey. I have used mine without any issues for over 2 years. Has the additional foam "forgiveness" cushion for versatility and has been worth every penny. Has never shown any signs of fatigue and is still going strong for me. And i am 80% rotary correction and 20% ROB for AIO and then sealant so my 3M BP has seen substantial use.

But i will say, having looked at the Evolve 4R just now, that looks like a good one too and at about half the price of what i paid for the 3M one.

Another 5 inch option is this one. I use this with my 5.5x7x8 Hyrdrotechs and love the extra cushion afforded by the foam in the backing plate. With this route I can use the thin wafer style pads on my G110v2 and also use the same pad on my 849x with the extra cushion from this backing plate. Win-Win.

Hey, smack, that looks like another winner. I like the looks of that one too. And the price is even better!
