What's your initial impression? Weight, looks, build quality, etc.

i haven't picked up the older dewalt in a long time but its definitely light then my old dynabrade. i love the piece on the head since thats where i hold it 90% of the time. the dial was something that caught my eye, very easy to quickly look down and see what speed you are at while polishing. the side vent do come out i suppose for cleaning? it seems like a well built polisher and i will really be trying this thing out tomorrow and see how well the 600 rpm feature can jewel paint compared to the makita.

Sounds good. Please post back with more impressions after you give it a try. If I didn't have my makita, I'd seriously consider picking this one up.

The 849x is great, has the same trigger feel as the orginal. A little lighter. the speed dial is awsome.

Comes with two handles, backing plate.

    It looks mean as hell
