Sorry for the link, I just made a strong mental note...NO MORE LINKS...

I just received my Dynabrade unit this morning but won't test it out for a few days. It seems like a very quality made device but they placed the wrong sized wrenches in the package so I just got done grinding mine to fit.

Just got mine in a couple hours ago as well. Can't seem to get the 8" backing plate off it though for some reason.

I'm at least assuming it's supposed to be removable.... but maybe not? I got the dual-mode locking one.

Thats funny, I just got mine today as well. I may drag out the practice hood and try it tomorrow.

There should be an allen head screw in the center of the pad that holds it in place

Thanks for the info Adam. As far as the age of the post, well, I wasn't wearing my reading glasses and the dates were kind of small, I thought they were from Oct.

I had to grind 1/4" out of the opening of the larger supplied flat wrench to get it to fit the spindle nut behind the backing plate on mine to get the backing plate off. Mine has an Allen bolt holding the backing plate on. Does yours have an Allen bolt in the center of the backing plate? Maybe yours has a flat wrench that is also the wrong size..?

Let me know what you guys think about this. Something I would be very interested in. I hate using my PC because of the vibration.

I'm thinking that may be the issue. I'll have to look at it a little closer and decide if the flat wrench needs grinding or not. Thing is, with the locking one I shouldn't even need to use a flat wrench since in "locked" or "rotary" mode, the backing plate is held stationary on its own.

So you cant get the allen bolt out Charlie?

I wouldnt think you need the wrench either with the lockable one. Lock the attatchment and use the lock on the polisher
