    When should you apply pressure??

I'm never sure when I should use pressure on my rotary when I'm detailling.

Anyone have clue on why, when and how much pressure i need to put?

    Thank!

Re: When should you apply pressure??

Adding pressure with a rotary can cause damage very quickly. So be very careful, if you do it.
When I am using my dewalt, I just use the weight of the machine, and no added pressure.
You can turn the speed up a little if you need be. I usually run mine between 1200-1800rpms. And it goes up to 3K speed. That is like instant paint removal.

I am with you HighEnd, If you use the right products , the weight of the rotary will be all you need.

That is one benefit to my flex vvb. It puts its back into its own work instead of me putting my back into it

There are so many variables here,it's hard to say. I do use a little pressure at the begining and ease off to the weight of the machine.

I agree little to no pressure. For someone new, the vertical panels are a little harder to judge.
