    Not to hijack this thread but I have a few of the 6.5inch CCS pads for my UDM. Can I try those on the backing plate that came with my Makita 9227C. It also 6.5 inch. Or do I have to have a slightly smaller BP than pad for safety sake?

    Makita 9227C, UDM, Optimum polishes,Menzerna Power Finish, Pinnacle XMT polishes, Poorboy's Sealant, Collnite Insulator wax, various 4,6.5,and 8 inch CCS pads. Edge pads. Microfiber towels galore. And a big thanks to Meghan for shipping to Walt Disney World.

    To be on the safe side I would use a alightly smaller backing plate.
