I agree with this. It's a great line and is very user friendly. Great place for someone new to start.

Then Meguiar's Black Wax is not what you want.

First things first...
IMO: To determine the tools, pads,
liquids, etc. to use for Paint Correction,
certain steps/processes should be taken.
So...
After washing the vehicle,
have you performed:
•Iron particles decontamination (ex: IronX)
•"The Baggie Test"
•Claying (per: "The Baggie Test" results)
•Diagnosed the "paint's condition",
via Swirl Finder-lighting
Bob
Good post.

With your PC, you will get good results with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound on a Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting Pad followed by Meguiar's Ultimate Polish on a medium foam pad, like the Meguiar's Thin Pads. The lower profile of both of these pads will squeeze the most performance out of your PC.
Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System, paint polishing system, car polish, car detailing system, compounding system, remove scratches
Meguiars 5 Inch DA Foam Discs 3 Pack
These combos are very forgiving for beginners, yield very good results, are available OTC and are reasonably priced.

.
Seeing as he is new I wouldn't jump on microfiber right away. I would stick with foam.
I would recommend the Meguiar's foam discs that you posted with a 5" backing plate. They are great pads and will take more advantage of the PC's power over a thicker pad. I would pick up more than three.

meh....they say it's a glaze with a sealant built in but I would question it's longevity. Even Chem. Guys top it off with their sealant.
Again, contrary to your 20/20 comment I know but it's worth it. Once corrected the sealants and what not go on in no time at all. I can coat my entire sedan in less than 10 minutes. I had to wait 15 for it dry which gave me time to grab a cold beverage but after that I can literally put a coat of Collinite on and buff it of in 15-20 minutes tops.

Haha. Yeah, it's funny that a company has to have a chart on old and new product names and availability. Crazy.
What did you decide on using for the Vette?

Re: help decide swirl/cut and polish for Z06
Going to go with 8oz heavy cut 400 and sf 3500
For now meg ultimate as lsp.
Just need to figure out what color ccs pads I need. I think I need orange and white. Got to look into that yet.

Maybe grab a yellow just in case, or a microfiber. Your clear coat is typically very hard

Cool. Very good choices.
Pad wise consider this:
Vette Paint is very hard. I had one and remember it well. Pick up 5 Yellow pads. You might be able to get away with orange if you lean into it but you will probably need the cutting power. Can always return them if not used. White will work out very well for the final polishing.
