    Re: Topping Essence with CQUK

    Again:

•If Essence leaves a "strong layer" of protection
behind...how, then, could CQUK effectively bond
to the paint, as it is advertised that it will do?

    What?

There are lots of LSP's that claim strong protection, but still advise that layering can be done.

Waxes, sealants, coatings...I haven't seen many that suggest you can't layer them.

DG 601/105 is an example of primer bonding although different chemistry to sio2.

If Essence's protection, said to be SiO2, is the
topmost component of this AIO's overall film-layer...
    Then:
Where does the "primer part" component of
this AIO lie at---in order for primer-bonding with
CQUK to occur? Surely it can't also be on the top!

    Regardless:
Doesn't CarPro advertise that their 'Coatings', when
layered atop Essence, will bond to the paint?

Bob this was the essence (pun intended) of my original question regarding topping time. If essence is let to cure and harden then i dont get how it bonds strongly. Its either some complex chemistry that reacts when cquk is applied or some clever marketing. Either way I'm going to do it and using essence as more of a finishing polish / glaze. So far the gloss is amazing.

    If so:
Makes me wonder what type of reaction
would not damage the integrity of Essence,
when CQUK is applied (layered) on top of it: Endothermic/Exothermic?

    From Corey at CarPro-US:

"In our experience here we found 1 hour to be acceptable and the solvents did not remove the essence. You can wipe the Essence with Eraser after an hour and then seal if you aren’t confident you heated it enough during polishing.
