New to coatings: Cquartz uk applied in high temps with bad results
i applied Cquartz to my wife's satin black wrap today and got really bad results. the surface temp was about 100 degrees so I applied to a mall section and after a few section passed wiped it off. after doing the hood there were streaks and high spots all over the surface that wouldn't level out. I had done a test section the other day and it cam out even and smooth, the only difference being the surface temp (the test was done at 80 degrees). luckily my wrap guy is a business partner and will rewrap the hood for free.
was it the surface temp, experience, or the face that it was a wrap that caused the issue?
am I better off using something like Dlux on a wrap or matte surface?
can I apply a 3rd coat after the first I coats have cured to attempt to level out the high spots?

Re: New to coatings: Cquartz uk applied in high temps with bad results
Did you read the instructions and just decide to ignore them anyway?
There are very few car care products that can be applied to a surface that is 100F and yield passable results
The answers to your questions are:
Yes, temp
No, wrap not the problem
No, DLUX is not for paint (you have reading instructions)
No, will not work...waste of product/money

Re: New to coatings: Cquartz uk applied in high temps with bad results
I have been researching and reading up on the coating process, but unfortunately I had to apply the coating at home without access to my temp gun of an a/c unit to cool off my garage.
Thank you for the reply, I will get the hood re wrapped and try again when it's cooler outside.

Re: New to coatings: Cquartz uk applied in high temps with bad results
Unfortunately you waited too long to remove it. I find with CQUK I apply a 2-3sq feet area and then remove it when the temps are hot. Otherwise you end up with high spots they are not coming off without being repolished.
