Bissell Carpet Machine Recommendation?

Hey everyone.

I'm currently looking at getting an affordable carpet cleaner solution, and have read a few great things about the Bissell units.

Currently I'm looking at these 2 units:

Can anyone tell me which one you may have or recommend?

They both appear to have the same functionality, but it is tough to determine which is the better unit of the 2.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I had just bought one of those and to be honest, I really wasn't too thrilled. The Bissell Green Pro Heat has a cult following though:

I'm going to save up for the non-heating mini-Mytee myself. I ran my Bissell out of water fairly quickly and it didn't have enough lift for me. This was not the Green Pro Heat though so YMMV.

I guess they have a "cult following" because you can sort of have an extractor for a fraction of the price of a "real" one. I have one that is many years old now, and the pump doesn't really work any more, and the wand cracked. They are better than nothing, but you can't really compare them to a real extractor.

However, for occasional use, they do get the job done. Probably better not to use any detergent in the spray tank, or make sure you flush it out good after use.

I spray area lightly with folex first. I got my pro heat on ebay. I got a rebuilt unit for $45.00. So far its been working great.

I have a Pro Heat. I'm sure you can't compare it to a real extractor, but it has been a pretty good bang for the buck for about 4 years now.
Granted, I only use it on my own cars. I don't do this for a living. I paid $80 for it.

Someday, I'll snag a real extractor, but this works for now. If I need more lift, I use my Ridgid vac.

I tried two different Bissell spot cleaners before going with the Little Green Pro Heat!

The other two models I tried were only 3amp while the Little Green is 9amp.

Also, the dirty water tank "Full" line on the Little Green is much higher then most of the other units allowing you to work more and "empty" less.

From what I understand, the Little Green Pro Heat is the same as this one, except this one has the car crevice tool:

They look almost identical besides colors from what I can see

I bought a little green proheat a few years ago for home and detailing use, it has been invaluable to me. I have 6 and 7 year old boys, a 1 year old daughter, a 2 year old dog, and a detailing addiction. As mentioned above, I am sure it won't compare to a real pro extractor, but for around $100 I would not hesitate for a second to buy another if this one died on me. Between household messes and light / moderate extractor work on cars it is a great tool to have around.

I had the autocare proheat for a number of years, it works ok for personal use but if you're detailing as a side business I would invest in something better. I went with the mytee lite to compliment my dupray steamer

I have two Bissells and a Mytee. I started with the first one you posted (essentially a Mean Green model), except it had no heat, and it lasted roughly 2 years. The second Bissell I own is a SpotClean PRO. I highly suggest you look into this model as well. I say this because its fill tank is larger than the mean green's, and it's packaged nicley, meaning I think it looks cooler.
I would skip the heat models. Hot tap water has always been sufficient for me. my 2 cents
