    Are Pinnacle Foam Applicators Best?

Are the Pinnacle foam wax applicators sold here on autogeek superior to the similar looking pads found on amazon? Or are they all more or less the same? Just curious.

This is one area where I have been able to economize without a noticable difference in performance

    I hate cleaning applicators.

I also hate the idea of spending hours perfecting the paint and then proceeding to use a single foam pad to apply an LSP to the entire car

I use 2-3 of the ten cent version and toss them all at the end

Re: Are Pinnacle Foam Applicators Best?

the real thin yellow foam applicators are cheap and disposable and i would use them for dressing trim. i've had them marr paint before and i like using the megs foam applicators instead (and a few others) because they are better quality (softer & thicker) even thought they cost more...

    (a little off topic)
I cut them in half. They're hollow like pita bread. I slip my fingers in and use them for wheel sealant.

    IMO:
These foam applicators are probably the
best I've ever used to apply most LSPs.

I've also used Lake country ccs applicators, wax applicator, sealant applicator and the blue hex-grip applicators (not on AG) as well. I like both better than the thinner yellow ones--with the hex grip probably being my current fav.

Never knew that, I will try that next time I'm putting on wheel protection!

Re: Are Pinnacle Foam Applicators Best?

i use both the meguiars and the cheap disposable ones, depending on what I'm doing. Supernatural hybrid is one of my 'go to' waxes, but is a pig to get out of the applicator afterwards, so i tend to use the cheap pads for that and then chuck them away. most of my other waxes and glazes i'll apply with the thicker Megs applicators. i also try to stick to using the same pad for each wax, you can tell from the colour staining which one was used. probably makes absolutely no difference whatsoever tbh, just what i do. i'm a little OCD like that lol

I'm curious about these $0.10 versions of applicators, can you provide a link?

I've used a lot of applicators to apply a lot of different LSPs.
From Duragloss 111, Zaino Z2/Z5, Souveran, Menz PL, etc.

Some of these applicators include Griot's Garage 3" Pads, LC CCS Handheld Pads, Handjobber kit's included pads and have never had an issue with any of them.

Once I build up an army of used ones (takes a week or so) I'll dump in a bucket of pad cleaner or dawn and let them soak overnight and then thoroughly rinse them out.

Been doing this for years, so far no issues.
