best paint correction products and procedures

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, still tryn to figure out what goes where. I have a question for the pros. Is the meguiars kit for paint correction any good. I have my gloss black 2006 BMW X5, as well a 2012 BMW 535i and a 2007 bentley flying spur that all look shiny and nice but are swirled, the bentley needs to be clayed. I need a good kit, or list of products and steps to do a real nice quality paint correction job as I will be putting my logo on these cars so they have to be perfect.

Not to get sidetracked, but you are putting your logo on them? A detailing company logo?

There is unfortunately no cook book recipes I can offer. Any Shmuck can buy a polisher and a box of goodies. What differential a Shmuck and a true detailer is the individualized approach to each paint/car, which requires test spots using a great variety of products and pads and speed etc... The more products and experience you have, the better the result. The worst thing for you to do is to take an aggressive approach to all the cars by just throwing a MF cutting disc and some FG400, when the paint may respond just as well with a lesser aggressive approach. ALL paint will respond to aggressive, but the wisedom of our trade mimics the Hippocratic Oath which says: "First do no harm", and this requires you to use the least aggressive FIRST!. BMW and Bentley's are not the same, and even within BMW the paint may differ between all colors.

I think Puckman has a great idea in trying to hook you up with a local veteran. This way you may be able to capitalize on knowledge and an arsenal of products

Re: best paint correction products and procedures

If I were starting from scratch and had a variety of paints to try to work with, this is probably what I would go with:

    Polishes\Compounds:
Compound: Menzerna Fast Gloss Compound, Fast Gloss 400, FG400 compound
Polish: Menzerna Power Finish PO 203, one step polish, swirl remover, finishing polish, car polish, german car polish, menzerna polishing compounds, power
Finishing Polish: Menzerna Polish PO85RD, Mernzerna 85rd, Menzerna finish po85rd

    Pads:
3 Yellow Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Foam Pad
3 Orange Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Foam Pad
3 White Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Foam Pad
3 Black Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Foam Pad or 3 Blue Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Foam Pad

    Coating (paint and wheels):
    CarPro Cquartz UK Edition
Reload Spray Sealant, spray paint sealant, spray wax, CQuartz Reload

    Tires:
PERL Coat Plastic & Rubber Protectant, vinyl and rubber dressing, interior protectant

    Trim:
CQuartz DLux Plastic & Wheel Coating

    Microfibers:
Gold Plush Microfiber Kit, Microfiber wash mitt, microfiber towels
Mango Breeze Microfiber Towels 12 Pack

This gives you a pretty good variety or options since you have different paints to work with. I highly recommend doing a lot of reading\watching videos before getting after it. Learning about test spots, using the least aggressive methods first, etc. is vital.

As for buffers, that depends entirely on your budget.
