    Homemade MasterBlaster....Will this work?

I have two electric Craftsman 180 MPH blowers that I got on closeout for $10 each.

I have used one to blow out the crevices on my leaky SUV, but would not be able to dry an entire vehicle fast enough to avoid water spots.

    I am considering:

-Mounting them both on the lowest level of a detail cart

-Merging the output using a Wye connector "Y"

-That goes into a MetroMasterBlaster 1 1/2" hose with reducer (can be ordered as a replacement part)

The CFM output should theoretically almost double.
There will be some loss, due to the connector.

Not sure what will happen with the MPH.

I believe it will remain at roughly 180 MPH.

Still choking a bit on the $339 price tag of the MasterBlaster

I could do this for about $70

the thing I hate about leaf blowers is the tubes. Maybe if the tube was more compact and had an aerodynamic inside it would be more efficient?

The tube on these is detachable.

It is not round and it tapers down.

-Determine the section that will barely fit around the wye connector

    -Cut it there

-Heat the plastic and make it round to fit over the Wye connector

    -Attach with hose clamp

    Looks promising...

I'd love to have a master blaster, a homemade one would get my job done.

    Good Luck,

    Kind Regards.

As a Master Blaster owner, I don't feel it's worth the price.

I have a craftsman I think 220mph blower and it works fine for me. I use the attachment that came with it and it usually does the job on my ram 1500. I keep a good wax on it and wash it either early morning or later in the afternoon with no waterspots.

Put this together using an old Craftsman blower--150 mph I believe--works just fine with the 2.5" hose, but didn't work well with a 1.5 hose.

I wonder why it didn't work well with the smaller hose?

    The MasterBlaster uses a 1 1/2" hose
