Ozone machines
I have been entertaining the idea of adding a ozone machine to my mobile detailing service. I do not know much about them but have seen they vary from 100 bucks on ebay to 800 bucks. Are the cheaper ones worth it?

Re: Ozone machines
I have a cheaper one and it works fine. I'll leave it in a car for and hour or days depending on the problem.
The more expensive ones are for bigger room and kill mold. the smaller units don't kill mold.

Re: Ozone machines
Is it as simple as removing the unit after the odor is gone?

Re: Ozone machines
Ozone can work great, but you have realize there are health risks that go along with using Ozone. You can utilize it, but you need to ensure you are not breathing in the ozone and that you are airing out the vehicle/your shop or garage very well before delivery to the customer. Over exposure to Ozone, causes headaches and other health risks for some customers. So, always ensure to air the car out for at least an hour.
Depending on what your using it for, the interior of the car should be thoroughly cleaned and dry before using the machine. then I normally go in 60 minutes intervals. Run it for an hour, then let it air out, if the smell still remains, I'll hit it for another hour or so.
i have a $400 unit I purchased a few years ago. Go with a good unit. I wouldn't buy the cheapest you can find. With a lot of machines you get what you pay for. So, get the best one you can afford.

Re: Ozone machines
Thanks for the information. Most Ozone machines look like a ghetto back hard built machine which makes me skeptical to buy. Which one would you recommend?

Re: Ozone machines
I had one and returned it, the leftover ozone smell is still there after 7 months.
