textured plastic protectant
I have a 2009 Avalanche and would like some recommendations on what to use on the textured plastic behind the cab and on the factory bed cover. Currently using Adams LRV and it is okay. Thought about the new DLUX. Let me know.

Hi
Yes the DLUX will work very well on texture plastic.
make sure only you clean it very well before, remove any other waxes, or other cover you had, use strong APC to degrease it, then use the Eraser or other alcohol cleaner.. dry well and coat the Dlux
if its ruff texture , you wont need even to wipe off the coat after the cure time... but its how you feel and see it on the plastic.
always test first on small spot before the whole job.

Thanks for the replies. The Renu Finish looks like it has good results. The plastic is not faded on mine yet and that is what I want to prevent.

oh, i see. in that case, it might be worth running with Renu to make it look brand spanking new if it isn't already and then keeping up on it after it cures with OPT spray wax since OCW is so rich in UV protection. you can apply it post-wash every couple washes and keep everything nice for very little time investment.
an interesting tidbit i've found with Renu is that it doesn't necessarily make plastic black if it's not supposed to be black; if a car has gray cladding, it enriches the color but doesn't change it, per se. it's weird stuff but it works well.

Well, I used a apc and cleaned the plastic this weekend and tried OptiSeal. That was a mistake. the sides would never shine, it looked good until it dried. Then it was just looked dried out. Put some more VRT on for now.

opti-seal won't change the look as you've already found out. it will only protect it and keep it from getting more faded. so, if it's not in tip top or new condition before you put the OOS on then you are spinning your wheels.
i hope you try the MEDS stuff and like i said, at that point, you can apply your favorite spray wax to keep it protected. i wouldn't try opti-seal after meds because i'm not sure how well it would adhere to the MEDS-treated material. it would be worth a shot though - i never tested it.
