Electrical cord hose reel....
Hey all,
I am looking for a hose reel for my garage. I'm tired of tripping over the extension cord when its not in use. I'm looking for a quality unit but it is for home use, meaning I'm not looking to spend $300 on it but don't mind spending around $100. I want it to be 14 ga 3 wire prob around 50 feet 3 outlet end with higher amps because I will be running power tools and Mytee carpet extractor off of it. I know the Mytee has burned up cords before so thats why I am going for the 14 ga. Any suggestions?
I am also looking for a hose reel for my air hose. I wanna run arppox 50-75 feet and I love the Flexzilla green hose 3/8 id with 1/4 ends.
What am I looking for in reels? I want quality cause I don't like buying things twice because I should have just bought the better one the 1st time. Learned that from my old man lol.
Thanks for any input!

Not sure if it would fit the bill but I have the reels that mount to the ceiling. They are spring loaded and I plug mine into the power outlet on the ceiling that my garage door opener plugs into. I can pull down however much cord I need. When not in use they are very much out of the way and not taking up floor space.

Ya I want the type that are secured to the ceiling an spring loaded. I just don't know what is a good brand. I looked on Amazon and they have a few, but they look like cheap china versions. What type do you have?

This is what I have. It runs my buffers without a problem, shop vac, etc. I would assume it would handle an extractor.

I have a craftsman reel like that, works great for the shop-vac as well.

The URL to the 14 AWG is above. I think rockler has a 12 AWG version as well.
I have an old Sears 12 AWG one, that had a light on it. I cut it off and installed a leviton commercial outlet on it.
You can see it off to the left side in this picture, it is in the center of the garage ( front to rear and side to side )
I went 12 AWG, as it is in a 20 A outlet / circuit. Figure if I am using something that has a high current inrush on start up, I'm better with the 12 AWG.

I have the craftsman one from Sears, it's 30 ft of cord, works great and cost $25. It's great for anything in my garage, especially using buffers or a leaf blower.

I have the home depot one as well, 50 ft long mounted same as above, next to garage door oener and plugged into ceiling, one of the best things I ever put in my garage. Use it to un everything from my table saw to my shop vac, reaches anywhere in the garage out to the end of the driveway

I paid about 70 apiece for the reels at the Depot. I dont know if you can change out the cords but I cant see why not. It comes with a 50', 14 ga which is plenty long for my needs.
