It is excellent for single stage paints and can be used as a show polish for clear coats, but in my experience it can negatively impact subsequent layers of LSP if used on a clear coat.

I reckon that depends on what one considers to be clear-coat "help"; and, if one believes that a clear-coat paint film has any porosity at all, or not.

I got my Nova when I was 15 and spent the next 3 years restoring it (body work, paint, engine...) and it was a very rewarding experience, but a long time ago.

12 hours, It was a pain to get up, so I used some quick detailer to help. Just polished the trunk it did cut down on the swirls though. Its not pefect becuase I didnt do any compound since I really dont know how much piant I have on there. Just threw on the DODO banna armor, in a few Ill go buff it off.

I used to have a 68 in high school as well. 307 Powerglide. Man that glide could take some abuse.

12 hours is a bit too long in my experience. I find the oils are completely absorbed within about 3-5 hours, any longer and the excess tends to dry and result in difficult removal as you stated.

Two or three treatments make a world of difference though, and in my opinion, a restored, polished, and waxed single stage paint can look as good as or better than the multi-stage clear-coasted paints.

I'm glad to see you are another fan of #7; one of the [most] legendry products that Megs offers. Your results reflect it's awesomeness.
