Wrong product ?
I received my new 6" Griot's Orbital Polisher from Autogeek 2 days ago. I also ordered the orange 6.5 foam pad. I used Klasse AIO on the sides of the 1991 T-bird I just purchased and they look great!
All of the top surfaces of the car have heavy white oxidation on blue paint. I tried Meguires Ultimate Compound, Meguires ColorX, and Klasse AIO.
I have spent about 13 hours just on half of the trunk and its finally starting to look better.
Am I using the wrong products? Hell, at this rate it will take weeks!!!
Thanks

Re: Wrong product ?
Try 105,M80 or Optimums hyper polish (i believe thats what its called) having said that, you might have to use a ratory for the nasty stuff

Heavy Oxidation?
Sounds like something a little stronger is needed to actually remove the oxidation before perfecting the shine with AIO.
+1 what Flash said above.

Re: Wrong product ?
Maybe yellow pad and some 105, or Menz powergloss? THen you can follow up with white pad and a milder polish some 205, or final polish.
105-205 seems to be very popular, but I have never used it before, I'm a big fan of Menzerna polishes...

Re: Wrong product ?
Larry,
You may also want to consider purchasing a 5" backing plate and some 5.5" pads. The smaller pads continue rotation much easier on the D/A polishers vs. the larger pads, thus the correction ability is faster.

Re: Wrong product ?
Larry, without photos it's hard to tell what your up against.
Occasionally finish conditions require something a little more stout than a dual action polisher; something like a rotary. A rotary combined with a wool bonnet and the right compound will more than likely speed things up a bit.
Since you have a dual action polisher I'd recommend Lake County Yellow 5 1/2" flat pad along with Menzerna Power-Gloss or Meguiar's M105. Spin these up to 5 to 5.5 and see if it works a bit better than what you've trued so far..
Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Pads 6 Pack, foam pad kit, build a kit, buffing pads, curved edge pads
