Re: Need quite a few things...

I'm sure the PC will work, but I want to be able to get rid of more severe swirls and scratches as well that are in my black cobalt. I don't really have money problems so I figure why not go for the Flex since its obviously a nicer machine, even though it's over twice the price!

I'm in no way knocking the Flex, trust me. I just wanted to show you that the PC XP will work. I removed some pretty nasty swirls and scratches. Whatever machine you choose, you should consider hydro-tech pads and M105/M205/PO85RD. The next couple items I'm thinking about, 1) a rotary 2) the Meguiar's machine damp sanding system. Between these two items and finishing with a PC XP, no problems! Good luck with whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be worth the money and time!

Re: Need quite a few things...

It seems like everywhere I go, on every forum I'm on, the most used solution is M105 followed by M205! I know that it's a trustworthy combo and I've been thinking about ordering that instead of Wolfgang with my Flex. What would you suggest? Isn't the 85RD like a finishing polish to remove earlier machining marks? And what's the deal with the hydro-tech pads? are they for water based polishes?
    Thanks for the advice!

I can't offer an opinion on the Wolfgang Twins, I have not used them. I started out with XMT then moved to M105/M205. The PO85RD really amps up the shine. The 205 and a tangerine ht pad finish so well, I just wanted that extra pop and Menzerna PO85RD delivered. I used a gray ccs pad for that. I just did a black SRT-4 and the owner was so excited after M205 I had to remind him of the 3rd step.

The Hydro-Tech pads cut really well and finish really well. The drawback to the HT pads is the life. From everything that I have read, I'm pretty certain you will love the Flex.

*Edit - One thing that is really annoying me about the PC XP is the pad keeps stopping when I try to get in certain areas such as taillight openings or certain places on the bumper. That's where I think you will enjoy the Flex because of forced rotation.

It just doesn't spin when only a quarter of the pad is in contact. Quite annoying.

Stop whining and crying like a baby! Life sucks...deal with it!
