Rupes polishes with a pc
I've been hearing good things about Rupes polishes, and was wondering if anyone has had any luck utilizing them with a pc xp? Specifically their medium gel.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Rupes polishes with a pc
I have used my yellow Rupes pads with various Rupes gels and it works ok. But if you don't have a Rupes machine I would just use LC or something else with the PC unless it's all you have.

Only thing I've used on a pc was a UHS pad and UHS compound and it worked pretty damn good.

Should have clarified. I have Orange / White CSS pads that I would be using.

Yes, in fact I recently ordered the liter bottles of Zephir and Keramik because I liked them so much when I used them on the PC.
I usually use green and blue Buff and Shine, or Cyan and Tangerine LC Hydrotech.
Your CCS pads should do just fine. No need to prime the pad either. I start with four small drops of product, then three for subsequent sectuons. What I like is that they have a very long work time, and are highly concentrated. With the compound, if you get a lot of dust, you've over used it.
Maybe I'll try some on the job tomorrow, and take some pics for ya.

Even though the RUPES polishes were engineered
for use with the RUPES "long/throw"
polishers/pads...those long throw polishers are,
(just like the PC 7424XP polisher):
DAs/random orbitals.
As such, (and IMO):
You should have no problems using the
RUPES polishes with the Porter Cable unit.

I tried to get some of the Schols clearance products during memorial day, but it looks like I put in a late order and they were out by the time they got to me. AG is extending their coupon offer to me to order other polishes so I don't want to keep them waiting. Going ahead on a liter of the Keramik. I'd love to see how it turned out for you though.

Glad to hear it I'll give it a whirl.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Re: Rupes polishes with a pc
RUPES compounds and polishes use top shelf abrasive technology and will work with any tool, pad or technique. I've always been impressed with all their compounds and polishes and now that they are adding more skews to their line I've been just as impressed with the new additions to their line.
I use the RUPES blue and white pads on the Porter Cable with the RUPES Zephyr Gloss Coarse Gel Compound and the Diamond Ultra Fine Polish with great results. Their coarse blue foam cutting pad with the compound on the PC work great and although the pad is thicker than I prefer for free spinning tools it rotates very well when dry.

What size?
The 5.5" thin CCS pads or the 6.5" thick CCS pads?

5.5 As per Junkman's suggestion. It did seem like that would enable better control.
