Rupes 21es + BOSS yellow pads
Every since Griots came out with BOSS, I always wanted to try BOSS pads on my rupes 21es.
In this review I was mainly looking for
- Smoothness
- cutting power
- finish quality
BOSS yellow foam pads PERFECTING
First, I really loved this clean looking, durable package.
Also with zip lock system, you can save the bag to store your pads after use, which can reduce trash (I really appreciate things like this).
NOW, time to try this pad on rupes 21es....
Couple days ago, I wondered how big of damage it will cause if I clay a car without washing..... so I tried it on my own car (2012 mazdaspeed3) with GG yellow clay bar and here is the result...
For this test, I decided to use Menzerna FG400 simply because I knew how well it works with polishing pads on my own car (also it is my favorite set up)
AFTER
Sorry about this poor quality 50/50 shot.
Conclusion
First of all, vibration was noticeable, but this was expected with any non-Rupes pads. Even though vibration was noticeable it was still smooth-side and I managed to polish some sections with one hand.
BOSS yellow pad + FG400 had great cutting power even with only few passes and had great LSP ready finish that I was happy with.
One other reason I wanted to try BOSS pads on rupes was due to rupes very stiff pads, I had trouble tacking curved panels and I was hoping BOSS pads would be alternative, but due extremely thin size foam, it did not have much room to contour.
Maybe I can have better result with BOSS innerflex pad.
Overall I am very happy with ability of BOSS pads and LOVED quality of these pads.
It was also very easy to wash and thats always plus.

Good job, any thin pad will struggle on a long throw on contoured panels.
I always go with the lake country flat pad or a Rupes pad
Good job.

A good way to determine paint hardness is the amount of marring from clay. Your paint looks to be on the soft side. Nice result after FG400, however.

How about the LC Orbital Pads? Have you tried them? A friend of mine says he likes them because they sort of have a similar shape as the Rupes pads but are softer and therefore easier to work around contoured panels.

I really like the Boss White Fast Cut pads on my Rupes and I have every conceivable cutting pad possible,LC HD Orbitals,LC ThinPro's,BnS Low-Pro's,Rupes Blue/UHS,Megs Burgandy etc.

Why do you like the white fast cut pads better than the BnS low pro's?

You got those results only using menzerma 400 with perfecting pad? No other steps?

They both identical apart from colour, ones green the other white but the BnS has the extra foam cushion which makes it alittle heavier and vibrate more on the Rupes. The Griots as a result is lighter and noticeably smoother. Do a free air spin on speed 6, you will notice the lack of vibration with the Griots and the LC ThinPro's. I actually ordered 6 LC ThinPro Greys but Nick only had 4 so substituted the 2 with the Fast Correcting White pads. Had that not happened I would never have known how well this pad performs. I'm gona order more as they now offered in 6 packs.
They are actually BnS Low-Pro pads built to Griots specification from what I can tell just without that foam backing making it lighter and better balanced.
I did a test section with BnS Green Low-Pro vs LC ThinPro Grey vs GG Fast Correct White and the GG gave the fastest highest cut, however they all are close and cut well. Hope that answers it.

Great answer, thank you. I don't think BnS makes the pads for griots, however.
