Product Review: Race Ramps Flatstoppers Tire Supports

PRODUCT REVIEW: RACE RAMPS FLATSTOPPERS TIRE SUPPORTS

    Introduction:
With people storing their vehicles long term through the winter months or while they are away, the only way to prevent flat spots was to jack the vehicle up and place on four jack stands. This method works although takes up plenty of valuable time not to mention it isn’t exactly the safest method. With a set of Flatstoppers, storing your vehicle long term and preventing flat spots couldn’t be easier. Simply position them in place and drive the vehicle onto them. Fast, simple, easy.

    Product Description:
Flatstoppers Tire Supports work by cradling the tires and distributing the weight of the vehicle over a larger area of each tire. Because Flatstoppers are curved to match the curve of the tires, the weight of the vehicle is not pressing against a flat floor. The weight is distributed over the Flatstoppers’ curved shape, and therefore the tires retain their shape.

Flatstoppers Tire Supports are lightweight, movable, and durable. They easily support the weight of any vehicle. Best of all, Flatstoppers do not slip and slide! They stay put while you slowly drive your vehicle onto and off of them.

Flatstoppers are made of a temperature resistant material that does not conduct heat or cold from the garage floor to the tires. Flatstoppers Tire Supports will not damage the floor or the tires in any way. In fact, Flatstoppers will keep your tires in the same shape you left them, even over long periods of storage.

    Product Details:
    22.3" long x 3.5" high x 14" wide
For tires with diameters from 25-30 inches
    Set of 4

    Directions:
Position vehicle where you want to store it
Place Flatstoppers in front or behind tires (user preference)
Make sure Flatstoppers are aligned with vehicles line of travel
    Drive onto tire supports

    PROS:
    Lightweight
    Easy to store
    Prevents flat spots

    CONS:
    Price $259.99

    Conclusion:
Gone are the days of jacking up your vehicle and placing jack stands under the frame to prevent dreaded flat spots in the tires. Simply place the Flatstoppers in front of the tires and drive onto them. Store your vehicle in the modern world with a set of Flatstoppers.

    Best Regards,
    Mike

Great detailed review as always Mike. Definitely worth it if you will be keeping a car in storage or along those lines for a extended period time. I would agree a little pricey but for what they do for you in the long run and the quality they are well worth it in my opinion!

While the flat stoppers look great, that black paint looks wet!

The price is crazy IMHO. I would just make the same thing out of wood for the specific tire size. None the less I still think the tire will be affected to some degree but much less than on a flat surface.

I was also thinking you could just make 4 small sand box's with ramps as the sand would shift to the size and shape of the tire and tread, or just 2 long troughs filled with sand or other (waterbed style or air mattress would work too)...

Thanks for the review and inspiration to make something simular.

Useful and cool product, thanks for reviewing. I like the video that goes directly into subject and the talk is very friendly so you don't need to be passing the scroll bar to find the content you're after: Press play, sit back and enjoy.

As always I come with crazy ideas, so this time would not be different...

Did they ever thought about 'mixing' both ramps you reviewed recently in a way we could raise the car '4 wheels', with the ease of the moveable ramp without dealing with expensive elevators?

4 ramps, one each wheel. Drive over, remove the ramp part to allow better access (like the first ramp reviewed), and you're done. Car is raised in a way it would make detailing lower parts much easier.

In fact it would not allow such comfortable access to full work underneath vehicle, intention here is only to raise car from the ground in a way detailing lower parts would be more comfortable for us.

Do you think it can work using 4 of the actual existing ramps?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Kind Regards.
