Meguiar's Paint Protect. OTC
Today I had to make a trip at my local Auto-Zone for some MF towels to clean the interiors.
While I was there I saw they had the Meguiar's Paint Protect on sale for $8.99.
I thought, why not being I had a customers truck that only wanted a wax applied to his truck , gave him a little something extra.
Here's what I think of the product....
Spreads very easy.
Doesn't haze up like a wax does
Buffs off easy.
Doesn't stain trim.
It didn't add much shine but felt very slick.
Reading the bottle it said safe for paint, plastics, chrome but not for glass.
The trim was faded on the truck, mostly the black rubber on top of the bumpers.
I applied it to the paint and all of the exterior trim, buffed it off.
What I loved about it the most is what it did for the trim , the mirrors looked great, dry to the touch.
I'll use it for trim and might use it on paint every now and then, oh, one more thing, the chrome bumpers looked great once it was buffed off.
Can't go wrong for 9 bucks.
I applied it using my DA and a LC Red Pad.

I've been keeping my eye out for this on the clearance shelf in the back at Advance Commercial Auto Parts. If it's on sale already, probably won't be long before it's less than a buck on the clearance rack.
Thanks for posting your thoughts on it. I've been thinking about applying it to one or 2 of the handicapped accessible rental vans at the shop.

I have it and I currently have it on the hood of my car. I agree with you on the application.
FYI it's recommended to not get it wet for 1 week. Here's my review on it from MOL. I just updated it with photos on page 3 if you are curious about it's performance.

IMO it will out last any "Wax" so I can now offer better protection for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on protection.
There's some really good OTC products, such as Meguiar's Ultimate Wax, Compound and Polish, just to name a few.

I'm going to test some 365 PP on my daily driver and see how long it lasts.

Saw it today at walmart for $8 bucks and was going to buy some but was in a rush! Definitely considering this for customers who want a a cheap sealant! Does the dirt stick to it or wipe off easily with the 2BM?

Thanks. Let us know how it works out for your client. I am curious to compare the results in your neck of the woods with the So Cal area where I'm at.
I have to say the initial sheeting is impressive.
