Great for small areas as well as using carpet and leather DA brushes. Not huge correcting power, but gets the job done with microfiber pads or yellow foam.

Re: griots garage 3 inch polisher
I have the GG 3" and I use it for minor spots that are scratched and polishing the headlights. But the most I use it for is applying carnauba waxes onto the car. The DA is small enough to move in tight areas and IMO a DA can apply wax much faster, spread more thin and consistent and have better results than by hand. I just blip the trigger when I have the Pad in the jar to get the wax.
PS: for $99 you can't go wrong and it has a lifetime warranty so if anything goes wrong just return it and get a new one. That being said....I have had my GG 3" for over a year and have not experienced any issues. One thing that should not worry you is that it tends to run a little "hot"....again, not an issue.

When I was in the market I did quite a bit of reading and research and concluded that the 3" GG would only provide correction at the highest speed setting and was only good for spreading sealant or wax on the lower settings. I ended up purchasing the Rupes mini and an more than satisfied with its performance. Food for thought.

It's like comparing the Flex to a PC.

Same thought I had when making my decision! Lol! The Rupes mini is the Lexus of 3"-4" polishers. It may cost a bit more but is much more powerful, smooth, quiet, and much less labor intensive to operate. I use mine quite often and makes short work of intricate areas. It also works phenomally on motorcycles! My advice would be to either bite the bullet and get a mini or save up for a bit longer....and get a mini! Lol!
