Looks pretty good to me. Did you apply a single or double coat? Did you use anything else over the year besides wash?

Single coat. I haven't touched the car in 50 weeks. I know the owner well and I'm certain that she hasn't put anything on it.

It doesn't look bad, but compared to the original beading, it's degraded significantly.

I think it performed well in a 'set it and forget it' scenario. Most people here would want it recoated about now. I'm sure the average owner would still be quite pleased if I had just washed, decon'd and delivered.

So long between washes? She is of the opinion that rain is as good a wash as any. I've advised her more frequent washing a are preferable, but it's not a priority for her.

Why 50 weeks between details? Birthday gift from her fiancé. It's a yearly thing. They drop the car off Friday night, then pick it up late Saturday, she's wearing the same skirt as the night before but barefoot...walk of shame style.

Bonded surface contaminants were slightly less than what I typically see for cars returning after 1 year. I would say that it was time for a recoat. Picture after wash and Decon.

After 1 year and wash every other month, I'd say the beading looks pretty good there Sure would be nice if a coat of AW could be applied when its washed since its outside and not washed so much.

What kind of car is it?

How was the beading after deconning the car? Any improvement?

That picture was after wash and Decon. Pretty weak beading and sheeting on arrival, but it was clear even then that there was some protection left.

    ***UPDATE***

So I spoke to Derek yesterday and he told me that 99% of the high spots had disappeared the day after, so that was good to hear. In my use of the coatings I've tried this is usually the case and if not, a simple rinseless wash the next day will take care of that, just make sure you've got that 12 hour curing time out of the way to ensure proper bonding.

I'm sure he'll post pics of his car and he, like me, can't leave the paint alone and I told him that if he feels he needs to put "something" on the car to just add another coat of DGNCC, nothing wrong with a 2nd coat of that being applied in good, late summer/early fall temps.

HD Polish took this stuff right off. Now I'm coated with Cquartz. The Enviroshield is still on my dad's Porsche though.

Nice. Thanks for the update. How did the cquartz application go?
