Megs Super Degreaser alternative?
I'm running low on D108 and before reordering a gallon I wanted to see if there was a new favorite?
Don't get me wrong, D108 is efen awesome and I don't mind getting another gallon but I'm looking for suggestions on other products that get the job done.
I use it at 4:1 for tires and under the hood.
Thanks

I'm a big D108 user. I like Optimum Power Clean as an alternative.

I use Meg's Degreaser (1:4) and LA's Totally Awesome (neat) almost interchangeably. I think the LATA works a little better, but I'm using that undiluted.

Thanks but at almost the same price and using it straight, megs still seems to win. Unless I'm missing something?
I just went ahead and ordered another gallon of 108, why try to re-invent the wheel I guess.
Thanks yall

If you search the previous threads someone was talking about Zep degreaser, I think it's the purple one that was outperforming at a lower dilution ration... something like 7:1 if memory serves.

Interesting. Maybe I'll buy some purple Zep and do a comparison in strenght, dilution and price.
Thank you.

My go to is typically Super Degreaser at 4:1. However, I tried Zep 505 here just recently and did a comparison between the two, and I gotta say, I think I like the 505 a bit better. Not a bad price either, as a gallon costs I think around $9.

Do you also dilute it 4:1?

Re: Megs Super Degreaser alternative?
D108 is about the harshest chemical i have in my shop, although it does work very well and doesnt dry out plastic if only used for engines and jams at 4:1.
That said, ive been on the search for an environmentally friendly degreaser with not much luck. Almost all have to be used straight and cost 10 times as much.

Re: Megs Super Degreaser alternative?
Zeps Purple Industrial Degreaser is the best tire cleaner that I have used. Better than all the tire specific cleaners that I have tried. After about a dozen sets of tire cleaned with it, it has never caused any browing/blooming effect. It seems to only clean the surface and not leach anything out of the tire. Which in my experience is what causes the browing effect as the carbon and protective wax migrates to the surface to replace what was leached out.
I use it at about 8:1 ratio for tires.
