Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner
I got some to try on my Dad's truck. I tried some APC with a brush and couldn't tell it done anything. They have brake dust and rust. Dad wash's his truck when it rains.
Before
After
I follow the directions and used a soft bristle brush.

Great looking turn around you got there!
Megs Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner is an outstanding product and one well worth keeping in our arsenals!
Here is a thread a started where I used Megs and Sonax to knock out some nasty wheels.

Re: Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner
I used the Hot Rims for chrome rims number of times on my front chrome rims, as my front rims tend to accumulate more dirt.
After multple uses I noticed my front rims chrome dulled down and was duller than the rear rims brilliant shine of chrome.
Bottom line is, etch rate is accumulative no matter how short a time or how many seconds the label states for application time.
Suggest makng a product that does not etch the rims to look duller after multiple uses. Plus with chrome layer etched down I can see a pinkish base from under the chrome plated layer.
Damaged my rims. What do I have now ? Chrome plated rims, with duller pinkish looking front rims which I cant polish as chrome plating has etched down vey thin. Guess that was my luck !

Maybe upgrade to a better brake pad/rotor combo?
I see swirls everywhere!!!

I use Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner on my clear coated wheels, it works great also.

Re: Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner
One of the best OTC wheel cleaners out there! Nice before/after shots. I like the foaming sprayer too, works pretty well to lift dirt/brake dust off the tires at the same time.

Re: Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner
If you have a chrome plated wheel, this wheel cleaner will etch away and destroy the chrome plating after multiple uses, and it will make the
undercoating or primer under the plated chrome visible.
I have three thousand dollars set of wheels destroyed with acid wheel etchant, so called cleaner.
Whoever legend in his own mind that made this product can't tell the difference between etching from cleaning, and etch rate from cleaning efficiency. pretty pathetic

Re: Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner
I wouldn't recommend using any acid based wheel cleaner as part of a routine maintenance plan to care for high-end wheels. This stuff, however, works great to restore neglected rims and bring them back to a manageable state. Once the rims have been properly cleaned you can coat them with a durable coating like C.Quartz DLUX, Opti-Coat, or a variety of wheel waxes or sealants that are available to make ongoing maintenance even easier.
