Review: Detailer's Pro Power Wash
For this review, I'm going to share my observations using Detailer’s Power Wash for the first time:
When I saw Detailer’s Pro had developed a brand new high-foaming wash and wax made specifically for foam gun/foam cannons I couldn’t wait to try it in my foam cannon and as a traditional 2-bucket wash.
From PBMG’S copy for Detailer’s Pro Power Wash: “Detailer’s Power Wash is a high-foaming, wax-infused shampoo that gently removes dirt and road grime while adding real carnauba wax protection to your vehicle. Detailer’s Power Wash is the only high-yield foaming auto shampoo that contains carnauba wax, increasing protection and shine after every wash. The thick, rich foam created by Detailer’s Power Wash encapsulates dirt particles, eliminating the chance of wash-induced swirl marks and scratches. Detailer’s Power Wash is the auto shampoo that does it all!” Man was I excited when the UPS guy dropped it off! My wife’s 2012 Subaru was in need of a bath. Time to break out my AR Blue 383 PW and MTM Foam cannon.
Like most car soaps the instructions are basic:
Mix 2oz of DP PW with 6-8 oz of water in your foam gun or cannon reservoir, shake, and shoot:
Ahhh foam:
IMHO DP’s Power Wash easily competes with proven winners like DP Extreme Foam and CG Honeydew Snow Foam. PW produced thick foam and has an excellent dwell time. PW smells great, and reminds me of spearmint bubble gum.
I also noticed a few interesting observation of just how concentrated Power Wash is. Example #1, while rinsing off the Subaru, I accidentally managed to shoot foam across the driveway and all over my Honda Civic:
Oops! So be warned when using this product near other vehicles: have suds, will travel.
Interesting observation #2, even after covering the Subaru with a blanket of foam I had over 3oz of mixed up product left - enough to do a whole other vehicle.
A tip when using a foam cannon: the reservoir’s bottle has a standard size opening. You can re-use the cap from most 12oz water bottles to seal off any unused product for later. Always flush the cannon with fresh water when done to prevent product build up / future filter clogging issues.
Next up, 2-bucket wash test. But first, it’s time for a tall glass of cold water:
Remember: stay hydrated, my friends
Ok, 2oz of DP PW mixed in a 5 gallon bucket active with a strong jet of water coming right up:
2oz of PW:
~4gallons:
Ready, Aim:
ACTIVATE!
That was quick! Tons O’ suds!!
For the wash process:
- Both of my buckets have grit guards.
- 2 Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt - color coded per area of the vehicle
- Washed starting from the top down.
- Rinsed with AR Blue’s excellent 383 Power washer (electric, 1,900 PSI/1.5 GPM)
- Dried with a waffle weave drying towel
My typical 2-bucket go-to wash is Meg's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner. You can't go wrong with any of Meguiar's awesome products, but dang, Gold Class suds factor isn't even close to how foamy DP’s Power Wash is!! Bubbles aside, DP’s PW provides an excellent level of lubricity that is easly felt during the wash process:
Interesting observation#3: Half way through the wash process, my rinse bucket (closest) looked more like my wash bucket (furthest) from the amount of left over suds that formed. To me this speaks to how highly concentrated DP’s PW is and how safely it lifts/ removes dirt from surfaces:
All clean, dried per instructions with a waffle weave drying towel, and time for a stretch:
Conclusions: Detailer’s Power Wash does what it claims. It left my wife’s Subaru shiny and slick. Although, $19.99 for a 32oz bottle may seems like a lot, given how ultra-concentrated Power Wash is I’m convinced a single bottle will easily outlast other less expensive wash & wax soaps that aren’t designed to be used in a foam gun/ cannon.
From start to finish this review was perfermed out of the sun, in the shade. Additional atmospheric condition information:
Hope this review was helpful. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Nice review. Looks like a great product, especially with how concentrated it is.

Thank you! As claimed, it really is ultra-concentrated stuff. I used 4oz w/ some left over in this one wash.

Thanks for the kind words, mate! That's correct, I did a review on XMT Gel Shampoo & Conditioner recently. A true XMT vs DP comparison would be tough right now since application methods were different and I used different cars. Also, my DD's has a newer coating of WG DGPS on it where as my wife's Subaru is long over due on a Collinite 845 refresh. But you have put a bug in my ear for a future comparison test.

Nice review. The true sudsy soaps have lots of suds in the rinse bucket.

Nice Review! Did you notice any streaks/residue on the windows by chance?

Thanks. And no I did not. DP'S PW rinsed off cleanly from all surfaces. Good question though.
