Megs Wheel Brightener vs Sonax Full Effect

Does Meguiars sell WB under another name in smaller bottles?

The wheels in my car were neglected by the previous owner and I have a few small areas of baked on brake dust I'd love to remove. Regular wheel cleaner doesn't cut it. I'll never need a gallon and doubt I'd ever need it again after this one task since I keep up with my wheels.

Similar alternatives to WB would be good too if it doesn't come any other way. I may just have to go the Brown Royal route as it's available in 32oz bottle. That could be a lifetime supply for me!

Yes. The Meguiars Hot Wheels Chrome Wheel Cleaner is the consumer version of Wheel Brightener. It’s safe for all wheels except bare aluminum.

Question: Are the wheels chrome?

Excellent! Thanks!

No, the wheels aren't chrome; they're OEM painted. The areas needing a little extra attention are mostly in the barrels where the paint doesn't appear to be clear coated.

Prepare to do battle. Lol. Caked on barrels sometimes put up a heck of a fight, especially with the wheels on the vehicle.

I won't even try when they are on the car. I'll just wait until I pull them off and mount my winter wheels in late October, early November. I've also got some wheel weight goo to remove after getting new tires mounted not long ago. Not looking forward to fighting either mess.

I’m currently having to do it the hard way. Pita. Lol.

Whoa! After two rounds...?!

Good luck with those wheels. I think we can see a bit of the barrels and they look black. I'm guessing that isn't the OEM finish back there.

Hate to have seen the wheels when the vehicle was dropped off.

I did it. Lol. I’m about to make a thread.
