How does the cleaning ability of P21S Gel compare to Sonax FE? Disregard the iron removal aspect.

No, Iron X is not safe for chrome. Sonax is safe for chrome.

Iron X Iron Remover, CQuartz IronX, Paint Cleaner, paint decontamination
Note: Iron X should not be used on chrome, bare metal parts, brake calipers, wheel balancing weights, or SMART paint repairs. Mask off these areas. Avoid letting Iron X dry on any surface.

normally you wont have problems with calipers also, only if they are aftermarket painted with acrylic paint.
if still you want to be careful, just use it more delicatly near the calipers , or use detailing brush near them
also, some asked me about Anodized wheels.. no problem to use ironX on these as well. !!

My cars roof area right above the door has a full chrome lining instead of rubber. How bad would it be if Iron X was accidentally sprayed in that area?
