Griot's Wheel Cleaner (normal green stuff)

I won this as a part of a Griot's start car care kit, and put it to use yesterday for the first time. In my eyes, it works great.

I used it on my neighbor's prius, who's wheels were not very dirty at all. Yes, very little brake dust... expected for a prius. I put the "finest sprayer" (who's quality is actually VERY good) on the bottle and got to it. I found that the best way for me was to put ONLY 6/7 SQUIRTS on each wheel. No I was not using the foaming sprayer.. because there is no need to.

I would put one squirt on the lugs
One on every other spoke (her car had 6 spoke wheels)
One on the side of the tire (90° from the top)
One on the other side of the tire, 180° around from where I put the previous squirt.

Then I would dip my brush in my 5 gallon bucket, only once and get to work scrubbing. The cleaner immediately foamed up and did its job. After vigorous scrubbing, I would dip the brush in the water (observing all the dirt that came out!) and scrub again. Then rinse and we are good to go!

My brush is of this style, just cheaper. Hahahaha

The wheels were left shiny, and the tires extremely clean. I give this product a thumbs up, and at $10 (or $40 for a gallon) I find it to be a great deal.

I WARN THOUGH that if you own a German vehicle, and use OEM brake pads.. this may not be for you. I believe this cleaner would not be as effective for those with that situation.

Griot's is a good company, though we all know their products are not the most hardcore things on the market. This would be a good example of that. Though, I have seen their new "Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner" put to use, and it was quite effective.

Sorry, no pictures of my application. I will next time, dont worry.

I use the Griot's Wheel Cleaner as well and agree with your assessment. I'll eventually try Griot's new HD Wheel Cleaner, but not until I run out of what I have.

I was very shocked by how little product I had to use.

Also the gallon price of the Griots wheel cleaner is very reasonable compared to most competing brands.
