Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz
That's quite amazing, thanks! I'm surprised that despite the fact that both coatings are based on completely different technologies, they behave quite similar once applied with regards to water repellency and chemical resistance.
Also your test panel is begging for an extreme scratch test! With sandpaper, or maybe lay it face down on sand and dance on it

Very timely work which will help many of us get the best out of these products. Superb job maintaining objectivity throughout. This makes me want to get a better digital camera for decent video to share. Excited for updates. Thanks again,

I have already told you but will say so again, outstanding job with this review Corey. With all the threads about both products, this was long overdue my friend. Thank you for helping out the community and I hope people refer to this article before starting a new thread.

After the learning experiences I would try the regular foam pad with OC next time. Have you tried it with an MF square applicator?
LOL, I did get a lot less careful later and originally I even mentioned that in the article but it ended up getting edited out.
Not a problem, Corey. I have tried everything and the ole faithful yellow foam is certainly the best. Microfiber and makeup applicators absorb considerably more product than the yellow foam that we include. My only suggestion with the yellow foam is to watch the contoured edge and try to use mostly the flat middle to avoid high spots. I'm to the point that I almost never have to go over a panel. My best advice to you all is to act like you've done this a hundred times and just apply it like you would a sealant: prime your pad, spread it over the whole panel quickly, then go up-down and side-side to make it even. Those slow tiny strokes are totally unnecessary.

Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz
Wow!! Awesome review I'm going to try out the Opti Coat this weekend.
So I am able to use OCW and Opti-Seal on the Coating?
Going by one of Dr. G's responses, the answer is yes even though nothing can really stick to Opti Coat?
This would be nice at least to temporarily add a bit of gloss instead of gathering dust on the shelf.

INCREDIBLE review!! I really think they should give you the authority to edit your first post so you can do timeline updates of the coatings. Since you are the product review king, I don't think anyone would be offended if they gave just you those limits.
