Poly-Coat: Short review + Beading pics
After washing my wife's DD last Saturday and applying XMT 360 followed by DP Poly-Coat, I couldn't wait to wash her car today.
After foaming the car with Gold Class Car Shampoo, I washed the car down with more GC blow drying the car and wiping it down. Initially, during the wash, I was worried that the soap had washed away the sealant already because the soapy water was sticking to the paint, but after rinsing, the water started sheeting away and was beading pretty nicely. I know it's only been one week, but I've used plenty of waxes/sealants where the beading/sheeting is noticeably weaker after the first wash. Poly-Coat showed not such signs. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I'll try and wash the car again next Saturday and check out the beading again.
Beading is not the best I've seen, but it's certainly not the worst. Overall, I would say Poly-Coat is definitely a keeper. Throw in the price point in which it occupies and you definitely have one of the better sealants on the market.
Here's a thought: Somebody should try a Poly-Coat/Wolfgang sealant combo. That should be a real stunner!

Interesting. Getting some of this myself - looking forward to trying it out!

Question: Does Poli-Coat seem more to sheet the water when rinsing or bead it?

What's the best beading sealant you've used?

When I was rinsing the car, it definitely seemed to be sheeting most of the water off like most sealants. When it stopped sheeting, I quickly took the pics before blowing the water off.

Zaino. Most of the water would sheet away, but when once it stopped sheeting, the little amount of water that was left beaded very tightly.

If you count Collinite (a hybrid), then I would say Collinite. Otherwise, NXT 2.0/M21. Had some nice beading with 3M Performance Finish as well, just never really cared for that product I guess.

Well, it's week #2 and I washed the wife's DD again. Procedure was the same as before. Took some pics again before final drying with MF towels. The water initially started sheeting again before the rest just started beading. Beading was exactly the same if not better. To my untrained eye, I could swear the beading has gotten just a little bit tighter. I am very impressed so far.
