Baby Powder For Detailing ?

Has anyone ever heard of this ? I seen an old school
detailer use baby powder on a freshly finished
bike. Has anyone ever used this ?

Yes it works well on older Lacquird cars.

It wasent baby powder, it was corn starch. It was used as a final polish, and also used to take off the original Simonize Paste Wax. It somethimes was a little messy, and you would have to rinse the car off with water and wipe dry.

Maybe some used corn starch, but this guy
used baby powder. I watched him use it,
It was awhile ago, I just couldn't remember
why he said it was so good to use.

Isent baby powder just scented corn starch?

wow .. thats a new one. Remember Pledge and Windex but not baby powder nor corn starch.

We were told by the furrier to use corn startch to clean our murano long wool sheepskin pelts (these are actual pelts, not seat covers). They said to sprinkle corn startch onto the sheepskin and gently work it in. Allow some soak time and vacuum it out. Has anyone ever hear of this before??

Yup. That is essentually a dry shampoo similar to what one would do to their own hair. The idea behind it is the corn starch or baby powder, doesnt really matter, is absorbing the oils left behind by your body. Also since your not wetting it or using a shampoo you are not drying out the fibers so they stay supple and soft. Its not really to clean but to maintain.

OT, I dont understand how that works. Do the sprinkle it on and work it in like a polish?
