Review: DP Engine Degreaser

Detailer's Pride (DP) Engine Degreaser is a very easy to use, highly effective and safe degreaser. It is an environmentally friendly cleaner free of harsh solvents and does a darn good job of removing grime. It is safe to use on plastics, rubber, metal, paint and even clear coat. DP Engine Degreaser doesn't have a chemical smell to it making it a pleasure to use.

According to the instructions, wet the engine and other items you are going to clean. Spray the cleaner and allow several minutes for it to do its job. I use a nylon brush to clean the larger flat parts and the Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush (reviewed here)to clean the hard-to-reach areas. The cleaner is especially efficient and doesn't require a ton of product to be used to get excellent results. The 32oz bottle should last quite a while.

Not all the water was dried from the motor. It was cold out and I was ready to be done.

This is an awesome degreaser. It is safe to use on all parts under the hood and does a great job of cleaning. It is a bit expensive at $15.99 for 32oz. However, it works so well and doesn't kill you with the chemical smell most other cleaners have that it is worth it to me.

Thank you. I really like the DP Engine Degreaser. I'll always have a bottle of it on hand. It can also be purchased by the gallon.

Yes, Ma'am. And ice underneath the car. After living in Florida for 18 years, I never thought I'd wash a car in below freezing weather. In order to get my detailing fix, I've been forced to. I've gotten pretty good at washing while standing on a sheet of ice.

I agree. I've used Super Degreaser in the purple bottle for years. It has such a strong chemical smell to it that at times it would choke me up. The DP Engine Degreaser is a pleasure to use.

Have you tried the DP Cleanse-All All Purpose Cleaner? I'm just wondering if what you used or if the APC is stronger.

Also, I'm wondering if you use the Speed Brush on your wheels as well, or do you have a seperate brush for that.

I'm guessing you didn't cover anything up before cleaning the engine. Is it safe to spray the engine with water?
