Re: Best Foamer for Hose, not pressure wash
Rinse it, get it wet first. Then fire up the foam and let it rip. Let the foam sit a bit!!
Plus, fire it in the air for the "Christmas in July (well, August) celebration!!

if using the half gallon canister that comes with the foam gun, what dilution do you guys use if using DP extreme foam? And what setting is your multi ratio stem at? I want the most foam!!!

Review the ad copy for the DP Extreme Foam:
128 oz. DP Xtreme Foam Formula Car Wash

Re: Best Foamer for Hose, not pressure wash
I Fill the container with warm water and put a 1/4 cup of the Extreme
Foam Formula the night before use. I agitate very lightly and let it sit overnight. It is not necessary to let set overnight, but does a much better job when you do. The soap dissolves much better. Then right before us I agitate again and then use it. In fact I take a quart mason jar and premix this solution and let it sit on the shelf until use.
After I use it, I go on and mix the next batch for future use. Try that and tell me it doesn't do a much better job than a fresh mixed batch. I adjust the pin on the foam gun while using to achieve the amount of foam desired.

Re: Best Foamer for Hose, not pressure wash
^ You actually adjust your pin setting during wash? If your ratio is set, wouldn't you want to leave the pin at the setting that gives you the most foam? and which setting would that be?
Reason why I ask is because I followed the instructions on Autogeek's DP extreme foam page... which states set the pin at the last hole for "most foam". My foam ends up not looking like the pics on the ad page at all...

Re: Best Foamer for Hose, not pressure wash
That's why the pin is adjustable. I set it to get the foam that I want for that particular batch. I have used the same mix ratios of different soaps and sometimes the resulting mix is a little different. The pin adjustment is the final tweeking tool to get what you want. If the gun is set at the highest foam setting and the foam is no what you want, increase the soap in the mixture and use the pin to fine tune it.

Re: Best Foamer for Hose, not pressure wash
I was giving this a little more thought this morning. I use some of the recipes that AG gave for the Exteme Foam Formula soap and some that some of the staff gave when it came out. I never seem to get the same results claimed. Florida has pretty soft water as most coastal areas do also. Here in Kentucky water is hard. A lot of limestone in the water as well as other minerals. Hardness affects soap performance in water. I am sure that these recipes were given on actual results but the water tables in those areas was much softer water. I always seemed to have to use more soap and have higher pin
settings than were given in these recipes.
I think that is another reason that the formulas that I developed used more soap and seemed to work better when they were mixed the night before and the solution was allowed to dwell overnight. But I still was able to attain the extreme foam claimed, just more soap had to be used and higher pin settings.
