Pinnacle XMT Final Finish

I was sent a product to test out, which I recieved today. It turned out to be a bottle of Pinnacle XMT Final Finish, a new QD from Pinnacle that is meant to perform light cleaning and enhance a cars finish.

The first impression I felt was that it fit right into the XMT lineup, retaining similar packaging and simplicity (which I personally like). It comes in a spray bottle with a button actuated sprayer. The QD itself has an opaque purple appearance, the liquid having a grape smell that goes well with the color (XMT glaze has the same smell).

Past first impressions, the sprayer creates a very fine mist of detailer that goes on to the paint evenly and sparingly. This is a plus and a minus in my view, since it allows for even coverage but also shortens the window in which it is workable. I would prefer to see not as fine a mist as this, but it worked effectively nonetheless. As with most XMT products, the QD went on easily and did not streak. It left a very slick finish, removing the slight dust, finger prints, and small dots of sap that were on the surface. It brought back a just waxed appearance, leaving a deep 'carnauba' like shine. I found that it was equally at home on a metallic type paint as it was on a solid color. I cannot speak for amount of protection it leaves, I didnt get a chance to see how it reacts to water.

In conclusion, Pinnacle XMT Final Finish is a good QD that is simple, easy to use and looks great. I would put it well above Megs UQD, and at the same level (if not higher) than Crystal Mist. I shot some pictures of the two cars I could get my hands on; my Saab and my parents Lexus LS430. Keep in mind, these cars are VERY well prepped.

Saab (single stage black): Wolfgang DGPS, 2 layers of Pinnacle Sig. Series II.

Lexus (cyprus green pearl): Wolfgang DGPS, 1 layer of Collinite 476s.

I got to drive in the rain today (the joy!) and the water beaded like crazy. It did lose its slickness however, but when I reapplied when I hosed the car off, ONR, and dried it. I used it to remove any water spots and restorered a decent level of slickness (albeit not as slick as it was previously. Also, for those who are worried about streaking; when its humid out, my garage is about the nastiest you will ever get in terms of relative humidity. Pinnacle had alittle residue left but upon turning the towl and buffing was removed immediately.

Of all the QDs Ive used, this is my ranking:
1) Gl0ss It Gloss Enhancer
2) Crystal Mist/XMT Final Finish
3) Megs UQD
4) ONR QD dilution (great for cleaning, not so great on looks and other QD properties.)
4) Mothers Showtime.
