Re: *Review!* Meguiar's New Soft Buff 2.0 Pads!!!
Tim, thank you for your reply, but I was not comparing a PC to a G-110. I wanted you to compare the W-9207 pads to say a LC ccs orange pad using a G-110. Or even a PC. Trying to compare apples to apples. I understand that the G-110 has more power than the PC. That said, will the Meg's 7" pad have more correcting power than a LC 4" pad using the same pad cutting power on a like DA?

I think you mean the W7207 Megs pads compared to the orange LC.

Thank you for the correction. All I want to know is will a 7" Meg pad correct more or less than a LC 4" pad using either a G-110 or a PC on the same paint using the same polish.

I'd say less...but it will cover almost twice as much area in one pass.

So would an 8" pad, but it won't cut butter.

LOL.
Well I along 40+ others watched Mike P show that you can get good correction with a G110 and the new 2.0 pads at Detail fest this year. Is it as fast or effective as a 4" pad with same or similar cutting properties? Not IMO, but I also would never use a 4" pad for anything more than spot buffing or to get in tight areas.

Hey Tim, Great write up as usual. I have been wanting to try those.
Does the laminate come unglued like the other Megs? Though they recommend NOT washing them.
I have not posted here in a long time, it is a good place.

Simply put, I do not know as I have never tried it. Again, being a rotary user, I rarely use the DA for paint correction in the first place.
Hopefully someone that has tried both could chime in...???

Thanks Kelly! I appreciate the kind words!
No, the new 2.0 pads are different as the old ones just use Velcro attached/glued to the pad. The new ones have a special laminate with the Velcro. But it is at the edges of the cutting pad mostly where it looks like either shrinkage is occurring or the twisting force from detailing that is causing the laminate to come apart from the foam. But like I said, my new ones are not doing that, just my pre-production ones. The new ones look like they have reduced the amount of laminate reaching the edge of the pad, thereby eliminating any lifting. But I would still avoid the dryer just to be safe.
