Do you think the difference in smoothness was due to the CCS pad being thicker or the CCS dimples themselves?

I think it had to do with the dimples. Up to this point, I've been kind of MEH about the CCS pads.

They just came out with a hercules cordless rotary, going for $110 tool only...

Trying to make a decision on a gear driven...my PC 7424 is getting a little old, although it has served me well.

Looking at this, and want to stick with 5 inch pads, I'm looking at around $175. I have been eyeing the SPTA cordless, though. Just don't really know if I need cordless, but the SPTA is brushless, and supposedly just needs a regrease, which I have done on the PC several times now .

HF backs up their products, though...unsure of SPTA

I’ve been eyeballing this also. Was originally looking at the Adam’s Swirl Killer and some of Griots offerings, but why not go forced rotation instead at similar price points.
