Griots Garage ceramic glass cleaner

I really wanted to like this product but I am disappointed. I have many Griots products in my arsenal and I am generally a big fan. I have used their glass polishing and coating products of my vehicles and have been very happy with the results. I used the ceramic glass cleaner on the wife's Buick and I heard complaints after she drove home at night while it was raining. It left terrible streaks when she used the wipers to the point where she could not see. I ended up cleaning the glass with 0000 steel wool and I reapplied the Griots glass coating. Mama is happy now.

Had opposite experience recently. Tried to use glass sealant recently. Found out doesn’t work in under 50 degree weather, doesn’t dry/ haze.

Thought i removed all but streak like a MoFo when i went back out. Clayed, polished and applied CGS and no streaks.

That’s another major problem I have. I need this product most in fall and winter when when my garage temps usually run under 50. A glass sealant that last a month or two i cant apply in winter is just stupid.

The CGS worked fine under 50 degrees.

I'm surprised. Apex did a test and seemed decent.

Seems most of Apex products seem to have favorable reviews lately. I know he use to espouse how he buys the product but don’t remember seeing this recently. Maybe he’s going the paid promo route? Not sure…..

4 carwashes is a test?...I'm a BIG fan of Griots products, but this is one product I'll pass on.
Never been a fan of Apex tests...he rushes thing and never does durable tests over time......TIME.......TIME.......TIME.....is how to test

I agree. I don't put too much into any of the torture tests.

I remember back in the 80's they would light lighter fluid on fire on hoods as a test in commercials...LOL
pretty sure it will burn off on any surface and not cause an issue

Some of those sales-pitch guys still do it. I watched it happen after buying a product back in 2004. I didn't mind, it was so cheap I had planned to buy it anyway. But the lighter fluid trick made me want to ask for a refund

Refresh my memory on how that happened? It made for a sensational ad.

GG Ceramic Glass cleaner FLUNKED today!

Looked fine until I did the side of the car in the setting sun... all it did was smear around when trying to wipe it off. I went over it with a glass towel and the resprayed another glass cleaner on it to try to remove the film. I finally used a wet "magic towel" and dry towel. I then turned the vehicle around and cleaned the mess off that side.

It smeared all over the last time I used it but forgot the mess I saw driving into the morning sun.

This is what they claim the product will do..... This unique formula easily leaves behind a crystal clear, streak-free finish while adding hydrophobic and durable protection to all your glass surfaces

I tried the aerosol version of it and it cleaned well enough and has water beading, but i was dissapointed at how hard i had to work to get rid of all the streaks compared to my normal glass cleaner. I wonder if the spray is better than the aerosol .

IMO....CGC is a product that needs to go back to the drawing board......

With the Ceramic 3-in-1, people seem to run into streaking issues when using it in direct sunlight or overapplying. It could be similar with the glass cleaner. Aerosol may be tougher to control the amount?

I’ve found that after using dedicated glass towels, 2 each, I then chase with a Costco yellow towel and it hasn’t left any haze/streaks.

I dont think its a sunlight issue as i applied at night one time, it "could" be an over application issue. Ill try using less when i back to back compare it with Wolfgang perfekt vision. For reference i LOVE the 3in1 it does take some effort in application over a standard spray wax but the longevity is 100% worth it. Not sure the glass cleaner is worth the hassle when other products are available.

Definitely son’t use too much. I wipe with a WW and followed up with a low nap towel.

I now just use there krinkle towels. It works as well as there glass sealant for me with less work.
