Underrated/Overlooked: Meguiar’s Hybrid Paint Coating

Yeah, I wonder how much they could've decreased the cost eliminating some of the components in the kit and making it like cancoat. Looks like they tried to package the kit for an average consumer but I think they overshot there. I bet if they just sold the can and a MF towel and marketed it like other spray products but with coating durability it would've done better. At least with enthusiasts.

In my opinion I think for the everday joe consumer, cost was a huge turn off, as well as the level of understanding of what this product is, what it does and how it needs to be applied. This is not really the fault of Meguiar's but if it isn't spray on-wipe off or wipe on-wipe off, its too hard for regular consumers to comprehend. Some are just dumb (sounds bad but its a fact) and most others are too lazy.

For serious home detailers and professionals (like us), I think the cost was a small part of it but MOSTLY its because the name Meguiar's doesn't ring the same way to most people like these other established (and unestablished) boutique brands. Its a turn off so to speak because their a brand that you can find on Walmart and Target shelves or just about anywhere locally. It tends to be looked upon as being "cheap" so it gets intentionally ignored for brands that you can only find online. Or brands that may be getting more social media exposure.

I certainly don't feel this way but its my perspective on why HPC in particular never got the traction that it deserved.

Applied the megs coating after a wash and dry today. Man it’s super easy to work with.

I’m impressed. I tested it out on my roof a couple weeks ago to make sure it played well with my plastidip/dip armored car
