-60 degree minimum temp. Odd. I ended up using my garage propane heater and letting the product sit for about 2min before wiping. This is the biggest negative imho. Being in the northeast, I like to coat/seal my cars in Oct/Nov.
-Small quantity of prep spray. My truck is big. I probably used 1/2 the bottle. A lot of reviews say there isn't enough for one car. They must be really spraying on there.
According to Markus Kleis, temperatures below 60 degrees F make it difficult for the initial setup curing process. He says that in lieu of a space heater, you can use a heat gun (CAREFULLY) to warm up the panels. I actually did just this a few days ago detailing my neighbors car. When cold, the removal was slightly more difficult as you tend to just move the oily haze around versus a much warmer temp where the coatings carrier has evaporated.
I too also agree that maybe the small prep spray bottle is not enough for larger vehicles. Of course this depends on how much you spray. I bought a gallon of M122 for this very reason - to have backup in case I ran out.

Re: Underrated/Overlooked: Meguiar’s Hybrid Paint Coating
So I ended up detailing my neighbors 2020 Toyota Avalon XSE. This car has never been protected since he bought it new last year so there was literally nothing on the paint. I could have just wiped the panels with M122 but decided that I would do a light polish with 3D One to fully prep the paint for HPC. I also did a light polish on my Fathers 2018 Nissan Rogue before we applied HPC.
I really think that polishing the paint first is the way to go for maximum bonding of HPC. This was the mistake I made with our Durango as I did not polish the paint. And though I did a light clay towel treatment as well as an APC wash, I don't think it was enough to remove the layered spray sealants I had been using the past few months on the truck. This is probably why some areas were showing less than desired water behavior.

I've seen YouTube videos from Meg's saying to do 2 coats.....within one hour or the second coat won't bond

He could be meaning a rockstar in performance?
When your major B&M discontinue (not on PepBoys sight anymore and they also carried) is a telling sign.
People here seem to like so hope thats not the case but those B&M’s wouldn’t be discontinuing if it a “rockstar” seller for them.

Is this just an out-of-date page? Or (hopefully) is Meg's coming out with its own true SiO2 coating?

I agree with you that he doesn't specifically address the sales performance of it, but does call the Hybrid Paint Coating a Rockstar. I would doubt Meguiars is already giving up on this product. I would guess they look at repositioning it. I think they should have targeted this at their Detailer line.

Meguiars usually releases brick and mortar stores before internet. For them to catercto those stores the must be a big part of their sales strategy.
I hope it’s not. From the reviews here alot seems to like it but we here are the minority of there sales.

Just a heads up. Autozone has this kit discounted to $20 now in my area. I hope they will still produce it next year.

I just ordered one from the closest location to me and will grab it at lunch time. They limited me to only one. If there's more in store I will grab those as well.
I'd hate to pay $60 for the kit. While it seems like a great product, only coating two cars for that price is a little steep.

$60 is about the norm for a year. You can get CanCoat for about $60 and get multiple uses. For $20-30 the meguiars is great.
For $41 during an AG sale you can get 2 coats on both cars and have some left with CanCoat.
My issue now with the product is it NEEDS to be applied above 60 degrees.
I bought a can to test out. Now with current weather, won’t be able to try till spring. Hope aerosol holds up.
Wonder if AZ would pricematch?

As was mentioned above, actual coatings are in this price range. Obviously some markup due to included components like the applicator towels and prep spray. You really can’t be comparing this to other consumer grade spray “coatings” as they really are not even in the same league in terms of beading and self cleaning. Definitely a good buy at the discount.
