The trouble is I can never remember which ones are good and which ones are compromised. I'm too lazy to figure out a way to mark them, so it ends up being a roll of the dice if you grab one of the good ones vs a disappointing one.
I wash all my stuff with Griot's MF cleaner and free/clear detergent, then lately I've been doing an additional short cycle with just vinegar. Nice towels are one batch, "dirty" towels another (wheel/jam/interior towels), window towels are another. Always did clean load/dirty load, but recently segregated window towels after some seemed to have picked up stray microfiber lint from being washed.
At some point I'll try picking up some RtoR and just wash all my PFMs and see if they end up any better.
This why I don't use drying aids with my drying towels anymore. I found over time that they were not even soaking up water anymore. It look several treatments with PS Rags to Riches to get them back to normal. I just dry and use regular MF's for a topper or quick detailer. I never understood how everyone became so fascinated with the need for drying aids.

I basically soak my drying towels in 2-3 ounces of R2R for about 12-24 hours then wash with 1 ounce of R2R in the washing machine.

If you’ve ever tried to get a wax or sealant 100% out of an applicator it’s extremely difficult.
I now presoak mine in a small bucket with about 1/3 white vinegar before washing w/ microfiber detergent. A few ounces of any soap or detergent in many gallons of water will not remove waxes or sealants from towels effectively. Seems to make a huge difference.
Can’t remember the last time I saw you post. Welcome back! Hope you’ve been well and are well.
I pre soak as well in MF detergent but I will have to try vinegar in the presoak. I usually put the vinegar in the rinse well in the washing machine for both rinses.

I usually use drying aids but based on this thread, I don’t think I will with the new McKees Glaciers and Griot PFMs. Thanks for the feedback guys

Agree 100%
And it took me almost 2 years to convince myself to spend almost 50 bucks on a PFM. (I am very glad that I did.)
Boy, would I be pi$$ed if I ruined one from using a $10 bottle of "drying aid" that could have been applied with ease after drying........
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Lmao. I do the same thing with certain stuff. For example the $40 for the Flexzilla extension cord I just bought. I swear that thing had been on my list for at least a year..
I spend countless amounts on food and random crap, yet will research something I actually want for such a long time until hell freezes over and I finally buy it. Lol.
